CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Canadian Bowen School is the leading provider of the highly respected, professional certification program in the original bowen therapy. This Australian technique, developed by Thomas Ambrose Bowen and practised globally, offers an indispensable approach to pain relief and systemic health recovery.

BOWEN CERTIFICATION PROGRAM DETAILS:

To qualify as a certified bowen therapist qualified to work with the public, students must successfully complete the following components:

Core Modality Training: Three progressive 3-day courses of intensive, in-person training
Clinical Practicum & Assessment: 100 cumulative hours of instruction, structured and reviewed case studies, plus written and practical course examinations
Comprehensive Final Examination: A 2-day written and practical evaluation
Anatomy & Physiology: A minimum of 100 hours of approved, comprehensive anatomy and physiology science work (Registered students without prior approved anatomy training will receive information on approved courses at the first class).
Business Acumen: Completion of the Nature of Business self-study course
Emergency Care: Valid CPR-C certification current within the last 2 years

Exemption Policy: An exemption may be granted for prior anatomy coursework or CPR
classes taken. All exemptions require formal application and institutional approval.

Graduates of the Canadian Bowen School program meet all educational requirements for professional membership in the Bowen Therapists Association of Canada.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Our student body comprises diverse professionals dedicated to natural healthcare:

Regulated health Professionals: Highly utilized by Registered Massage Therapists (RMT), Nurses (RN) / (RPN), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Naturopathic Doctors (ND), Osteopaths, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists seeking to minimize physical strain on their own bodies while maintain high clinical efficacy.
Allied Health & Wellness Professionals: An excellent career or secondary revenue stream for Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistants (OTA/PTA), Recreation Therapists and Assistants, Personal Support Workers (PSW), Yoga Instructors, Reflexologists, etc
Direct Entry: Open to Canadian citizens 18+ with minimum Grade 12, fluent in English who are in good physical and mental health.

Detailed manuals are provided for each core class. Small classes provide personal hands-on coaching to aide in mastery of the technique and protocols taught.

A $300 non-refundable tuition deposit is required upon registration for each core class that you register for. The balance of tuition for each class will be due approximately one month prior to the class start date. Manuals are provided at no extra cost.

MASTER BOWEN THERAPY PROGRAM:

Post certification, certified bowen therapists can pursue advanced studies. Upon completion of Bowen Advanced Strategies courses 201, 202 and 203 and membership in the Bowen Therapists Association of Canada, a Master's level certificate in bowen therapy will be awarded. The advanced courses may be completed in any order as each advanced class introduces all new procedures.
